Our estate Maple Zinfandel is a full expression of ourselves and our fruit, the growing year and this unique Sonoma County benchland terroir. Rather than achieve consistency from one vintage to the next we strive to craft a wine that reflects the best of each vintage. The 2006 vintage marries Pip and Oso’s Blocks from the South Vineyard with Tina’s Block in the North.

Blend:	88% Zinfandel, 10% Petite Sirah, 2% Carignane & Cinsault (a.k.a. Black Malvatia)
Winemaking:	natural yeast and malolactic fermentations; cuvaison 38 days; elevage 10.5 months in 37% new and 63% used French and American oak.

Black-purple in color with deep ruby edges, floral wine aromas with clear scents of raspberry, black cherries, spice, chocolate; the entry is smooth, elegant; a mélange of intense fruit and spice explode on the palate: dark plum, rich blackberry, loamy earth, touch of anise and cinnamon; the sweet, ripe fruit is supported with ample plump tannins and firm acidity. The finish is long and graceful.
